The Read More feature was one of the most demanded feature by the blogger users and finally Blogger has introduced it as a birthday gift. On 9th September Blogger announced on Blogger Buzz about this great feature. Blogger calls it as Jump Breaks.

With this feature it now becomes easy to show summary of the posts on your Blogger blog. Implementing this feature for your blog is very easy. If you are using the Brand New Blogger Post Editor then you will see the Insert Jump Break option at the right side of the post editor.

Just decide where you want to introduce the Read More link and click in the Insert Jump Break Option and the jump break will be introduced. Now publish the post and check your blog.

However if you are not using the New Post Editor, then just add the following code where you want to insert the Jump Break

<!-- more -->

If you want to use other words like Continue Reading instead of Read More, then visit the layout of the blog and Edit the Blog Posts

Below the Main Page Options, you will see the Post page link text option. Enter the text that you want to appear inplace of Read More.

That's it, now you are ready to use Read More feature for your blogger blog.

Enable DoFollow Comments On Blogger Blog

Thursday, September 17, 2009 |

By default the Blogger blog has all the comments as No Follow. You have to edit some code to make your blog comments Do Follow. What it means is that these links pass on the link juice to the site to which it is linked. As a result these links are good for SEO. Hence many bloggers use Do Follow links in the comments section to thank the people who have commented on the post.

Adding Do Follow comments to your blog will easily increase the number of comments on your blog. Also when people realize that your blog has Do Follow enabled, they will include your blog in the blog posts containing the list of Do Follow blogs and also in Do Follow blog directories. This will bring more traffic to your blog. However you will have to be careful as you will also recieve many spam comments.

To enable Do Follow comments for your blogspot blog, click on Layout and then Edit HTML.

Select the Expand Widget Templates option and search the following code in the template.

<a expr:href='data:comment.authorUrl' rel='nofollow'><data:comment.author/></a>

Now just remove rel='nofollow' from the above code and click on Save Template. Now your Blogger blog comments will be Do Follow.
