If we don't set any goals in our lives then the chances of losing the direction are high. The same things are applicable to Blogging. If we don't decide any Aim and Objectives for our blog, we may lose the direction and create a mess of the blog. My blog is a very young . It has just 10 posts and has got a long way to go before establishing itself. So I thought that it is very important that I decide the Goals and Objectives for my blog at this early stage so that I can work on them. So after lot of thinking I have decided that I am going to set the following goals which I will try to achieve before 10^th April as its my birthday and I want to achieve these goals as a Birthday Gift that I will present to myself.



1. Get PR 3 for my blog. Currently I have no PR , but I have been trying hard to get backlinks. So if my efforts succeed and I get a PR3 or above, I will surely dedicate a post about it. The next PR update is expected to come in the last week of March. So I still have more than a month to achieve the goal.

2. Get 100 Visits per day. Currently I am getting average 40 Visits per day. So I have to double the numbers. Actually its more than double but that's achieveable if I work hard for it.

3. Get 200 Page Views per day. Right now I am getting around 60-70 Page Views per day. So I really have to work hard on this aspect if I have to achieve the target.

4. Cross the 100 RSS Subscribers mark. This is really gonna be tough for me. But I will give my best shot and achieve this target.

5. Enter the Alexa Top 200,000 Sites. Currently my rank is 561,849. I feel that this target can be achieved as at the start of the year Cool Tricks N Tips had the Alexa Rank 3,119,885!!!! So it has been a huge leap for me.

6. Increase Posting Frequency. I have to admit that I am a very lazy person, so at times I tend to produce less posts and many of you must have already observed this by looking at the Archives at the right column of this blog. So I will make it a point to post as regularly as possible.

So here are my 6 Goals which I have to achieve before 10th April. Some of these targets are tough to achieve. I have purposely set high targets as it will make me to take lots of efforts to achieve them. Here is a saying which I want to share

Aim for the sky and you will land on the roof. Aim for the roof and you wont even land there.

Add A Search Box Widget To Blogger Blog

A Search Box is great for your blog as it helps the blog visitors go deep into your blog which eventually increases the page views of your blog. However there are many blogger templates which don't provide a Search Box. This isn't good as a search box is must for your blog.

But you don't need to worry as Blogger has added the Blog Search Gadget/Widget/Plugin for blogspot users. You just have to follow some simple steps to add a Blog Search Widget to your Blogger blog.



Step 1:
Click on Layout option of the blog for which you want to add the widget.









Step 2:
Now click on Add a Gadget option.














Step 3:
Now click on the Search Box option











Step 4:
Now you will see a list of options. Choose the ones that you want and click on Save











Now refresh your blog, you will see the Search Box on your blog. Search whatever you want and have fun.

Use co.cc For Blogger Blog

Many bloggers using Google Blogger still have the .blogspot.com blog address. Using a Custom Domain is always better than using the .blogspot.com as it has many advantages. Setting Up A Custom Domain For Blogger Blog

Setting up a Custom Domain for Blogger is a very easy process. It doesnt take much time and efforts to set up a custom domain for your blog. Using a custom domain over the default .blogspot address is always better and it has its advantages. We can set up a custom domain in two ways:
1. By Buying A Domain From Google.
2. By Buying A Domain From Other Sites.

Buying a domain from Google is the best thing to do. All you have to do is buy a domain from Google and they will set up the custom domain for your blog. They will do all the work for you while you watch movies and eat popcorn.



However if you have already bought a domain from other sites like Go Daddy , then you have to do the work of setting the custom domain yourself. However it isnt tough and it will take maximum 15 minutes. Thats it and the custom domain for your blog is set. Just follow the steps given below:

1. Login to the site from which you bought the domain name.
2. Find the DNS Management option. You will get it in Manage Domains option in most of the sites.
3. There you will find your custom domain. Click on it and add a CNAME record.
4. The CNAME record should have Host as "www.blogname.com" and Address/Points To as "ghs.google.com with the TTL as 1 Hour".
5. Now add the following 4 A Records
Host: mydomain.com  Points To: 216.239.32.21   TTL: 1 Hour

Now keep the Host and TTL same for rest of the three options, just change the Points To settings

216.239.38.21

6. Save the settings and you are done. Now you have to visit blogger and point your blog to the custom domain.

After setting the CNAME almost 90% of the work is done. Now you have to point your blog to the custom domain . To do that you need to follow the steps given below:

1. Sign in to your blogger account and choose the blog for which you want to set the custom domain.
2. Click on Settings and in Settings click on Publishing.
3. Then click on Custom Domain link.
4. Click on Switch To Advanced Settings.
5. Enter your blog address and click on Save Settings and you are done.

Add Borders To Images In Your Blogger Blog

Adding some styles to your blog images makes them look better. Many bloggers add a border to their blog images to make them look attractive. Sometimes only the image doesnt look good in the blog, so adding a border to your post image will make it more attractive. Here is an example Collection Of 60+ Twitter Icon Sets

To add a border to your image, go to the Layout option of your blogger blog and click on Edit HTML.

Now click on Expand Widget Templates.

Search (press ctrl+F) </head> in the template and just above it add the following code

Now go to your blog post and add you will have to make a minor change to your image code.
Earlier your image code would have been

now make a small change in the code. The new code will be

Thats it, now publish the post and see the borders around your image.
